Love Jesus, Love Church, Love Poole

Paul makes it quite clear in 1 Cor 13 that love should be central to what we do and who we are.  The reality is; without it we have nothing and we are nothing.  At Sunnyhill’s opening service 10 years ago, a word was bought by a visiting speaker encouraging us to be a church of first priority.  We believe that this was a prophetic instruction, as a result we want to practice the priority of love in these three areas in particular.

Love Jesus

This is our top priority.  This is the first step in our mission and the most important of all the commandments (Mark 12:29-30).  Jesus is the one that inspires us and we’re passionate about who He is and what He has done. It’s in Him we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28).

Love Church

This is our second priority.  Jesus said that this should follow on from the greatest commandment to love Him (Mark 12:31).  Church is not a building, it is the group of people that meet inside it.  We believe that meeting together and loving one another is vital to our personal and corporate growth.  Loving one another & believers from other churches shows the world who we are (John 13:35).

Love Poole

We know that pursuing the first two priorities will only deepen the love for our town.  God loves Poole, as a result, we want to let them know by telling and showing them in various ways.  There is a call to ‘GO’ in moving of God (Matthew 28:18-20).

We want to be faithful to the greatest commandment, the second greatest commandment and the great commission.
