Giving

Living a generous life helps us to keep God and money in their rightful places. Giving also provides resource to create a healthy church and community.

It’s one of our values...

At Sunnyhill, we believe in the biblical principles of tithes and offerings:

In Malachi, the Bible talks about bringing the first 10% (tithe) of our income into the storehouse (church). If you do, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in!”.

The Bible teaches us a baseline standard for giving: the principle of first fruits. When we give the first 10% of our income to the church, we put God first in our lives.

Tithing is an act of worship that expresses our gratitude, faith and love for God and others.

One of the top competitors for our devotion to Jesus is money (Matthew 6:24). Giving allows us to demonstrate that He is more important to us than material things. We believe you can’t outgive God, so when you’re trusting Him with your tithes and offerings we know that He will bless the rest (Proverbs 3:9-10 and Malachi 3:10-12).

Be generous…

We think Christians should be the most generous people on earth to support worthy causes, and there is no organisation with more potential to change the world than the local church!
